Statement from Ontario Liberal Leader Bonnie Crombie

TORONTO, ON—Bonnie Crombie, Leader of Ontario's Liberals, released the following statement in response to the resignation of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau:

"Public office is a difficult job. It’s hard on people who do the work and hard on their families. I am certain this was not an easy decision.

"Prime Minister Trudeau has served Canada for almost 17 years as an MP, party leader and as Prime Minister.

"He led our country through a difficult era with a global pandemic and a divisive and challenging geopolitical climate.

"There will be lots of discussion about what comes next for the federal Liberals. I will remain, as always, focused on delivering the change Ontario desperately needs.

"I thank the Prime Minister for his service to Canadians and wish him well in whatever comes next."
