Ontario Liberals Gear Up for Largest Annual Meeting in 20 Years

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 3, 2023

HAMILTON, ON – In one month, from March 3-5, Ontario Liberals will gather in Hamilton for the Ontario Liberal Party’s (OLP) largest Annual Meeting in 20 years. John Fraser, OLP Interim Leader, has issued the following statement:

"Our upcoming Annual Meeting is an opportunity for Ontario Liberals to come together and make decisions that will chart a course for the future of our Party – including how we will run our next leadership race and the election of our next Executive Council.

"It’s also an opportunity for Ontario Liberals to continue building on our strong, province-wide movement. Of the three opposition parties in the last election, Ontario Liberals received the most votes. When compared to 2018, we held our vote while the NDP lost more than three-quarters of a million votes and the Conservatives lost almost 400,000.

"With well over 1,000 Ontario Liberals already registered to join us in Hamilton, we’ll hear from voices from every corner of our province as we strengthen our opposition to the Ford Conservatives and prepare for our upcoming leadership race.

"And, unlike the NDP, the Ontario Liberal Party will have a competitive leadership race, because we’re the only Party that can defeat the Conservatives in 2026."
